Rebooting clarinet

Reboot clarinet because of the update of kernal. The nice thing is it does not force you to reboot. Of course it would take effect unless you reboot.

Some finds after the reboot:

First, the matlab license server start-up script might have a problem. During the reboot it sort-of hung there and was switched to console. Later I had to press Ctrl-Alt-F7 (or F8) to switch it back, and press Ctrl-C to quit it.

Second, the mysterious problem of my login information missing is solved, after  the reboot and a "save current config". The save would not work by it self, which is confirmed in the test of another machine.  BTW, I am still not sure about the exact cause of the missing information. It seems to be a consequence of the following steps:
  • Run  gnome-session on my PC using X-Win32, with remote window manager disable;
  • kill gnome-session... and exit X-Win32 to close the windows.
The impacts are I cannot show my login status using "who", "w" or "last", unless I login the machine locally. I've also found some error entries in the log.
