So, it seems every time I sign on to my
Gmail account, i find out about another
Google project from
Google Labs.
I am attempting to switch my life over to
Google Calendar, and away from
Tech Time, since I have a feeling that Tech Time will stop working for me once I graduate (or rather, once I lose my username). I haven't gotten the calendars to transfer over yet....some bug somewhere is preventing me from doing so.
I at least can use the
Google Page Creator to make websites, since soon I wont be able to use my MIT www locker. It seems so far that there are lots of limitiations with the program, but perhaps you are able to upload any sites you make on your computer, which can allow for more complicated pages. So far I've only posted
this. I think once the year dies down I can add a lot more content.
I definitely have been using a lot of the more established projects. I've been needing to use
Google Scholar quite a bit with all these research papers I have to do. And
Google Maps is alsp pretty snazzy.
I guess Google doesn't really need any advertising...they can get people to use their products pretty easily. I guess I just got excited about how they have products that can replace what I was using at MIT. I still think that
MIT's software is pretty dang good, and I would definitely recommend using Tech Time while you're at MIT because of the integration with MIT's athena accounts.
Anyway, that's my two cents for now.
Oh, and a special thanks to
Kiersten for commenting to my blog! Yay for her!

Resonance has been popping up on assorted websites. Mostly recently, on one of the official MIT blogs (
Ben's to be exact). That was cool. There was a picture of Resonance performing (with Borski singing his solo, Kryptonite), and it also links to a
video clip of us singing (with me on my solo!)
And the coolest part (at least for me) is the picture of my sister and me being all happy and sisterlike. Makes me smile! :)
Also, Resonance's
RARB review is up. It's pretty good, I suppose. They were right about the things they said were not the greatest. They still were very happy overall of our album.
So that's it for now.
Tonight: Lobster Dinner with Course 3 undergrads and professors.
Sounds good to me!

So, my sister, Katie, was in town visiting with me for the beautiful 4 day weekend (it was her spring break). She's most likely coming to MIT next year, so if any '10s are out there reading this, you'll have to meet her!
I had so much fun hanging out with her. And she helped me accomplish so much! My room is clean, my dishes are cleaning, there's food in my fridge, and a paper that I've been procrastinating on for a week is now done. Yay!
And what did we do this weekend, besides get me on the way to sanity?
Friday: Watched movies:
Shaun of the Dead: Basically it's a spoof on horror films, so you just can't help but laugh. And man, I definitely laughed a lot. Very funny.
Easter Parade: A classic. Fred Astaire and Judy Garland. My family watches it every year, and since my sister was in town, it only seemed right. Really cute, a bit cheesey, but I'll always be a fan.
Saturday: Cleaned my room, did work.
Yeah, I know, lame.
But I also performed with
Resonance at the
Dance-a-thon (the event was for raising money for the
Children's Miracle Network)
But that night we went to
Toscanini's for ice cream. If you've never been, you really should go. They've got lots of random flavors (along the lines of
J.P. Licks). I got "chocolate sluggo" which was a combination of all their chocolate flavors, and my sister and friends got flavors such as Mango, Blueberry, M&M, and Mocha.
After that, we watched
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, which I loved (for the second time!) and will most likely confuse you.
Sunday: Easter!
Church at the
MIT Chapel.
Walked all the way to
Boston Common, and took pictures of
the ducks (and if you've never read the book about them, you should, it's a children's book, but a classic!)
Saw
Take the Lead at the Boston Common Lowes (okay, so technically it's an AMC now, but whatever). It was pretty cute, rather predictable and clichéd, but the dancing was awesome, and Antonio Banderas was in it...so...yeah, it was fun to watch. :)
Walked from the movie theater all the way past
Faneuil Hall and
Haymarket, and ate at a nice Italian restaurant in the
North End. (I don't remember which one)
Back home to chill.
Monday: Marathon Day!
It was Patriot's Day, Marathon Day, so lots of people were at the
Boston Marathon. I was not one of them. I was lazy and stayed home. I think I just enjoyed the weather, did some work, and hung out with my sister.
The best part of that day was when my sister and I headed out to
Harvard Square. We went to
Burdick's. They're chocolatiers. Let me tell you, I think that was probably the best chocolate I've ever tasted. I can't even start to describe how amazing the chocolate was. So rich. So gooooood.
yeah, needless to say, that was a good idea.
Well, I've put off doing work for long enough tonight.
Leave a comment if you read this, because I'm pretty sure no one reads this anymore.
Anyway, later.

I came to a frightening/exciting realization that I have no more psets left to do in my undergraduate career. Now before you get all jealous and angry, I should remind you that I've still got lots of work to do. Presentations, projects, reports, and all the research that goes into those. I guess that's what happens when you take 2 HASSes and 2 grad classes...
so, this is me taking a little break from my pages and pages of reading that should prepare me for writing a paper.
But oh yeah, CPW was a blast, but now I'm exhausted. Busy the whole time, performance after performance (three for next act, three for resonance (though I missed one resonance performance for a next act performance)) And I got to see my sister, which was awesome. And she seemed to really enjoy CPW!
Anyway, back to work.

Oh man, good times! CPW is here. That means meeting a lot of people and basically trying to convince people to be just like me (i.e. come to
MIT (duh!), live in
Next House, be
Course 3, sing in
Resonance, etc.) I've enjoyed it every year, although it is one of the busiest times of the year. I'm always running around promoting all the different activities I'm in, and performing all over campus. This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, I'm going to be performing with other Next House members in the annual Next Act production. This year we're doing Singin' in the Rain. Of course, as with any large production, a lot of rehearsing is necessary...so I've been having very long nights this past week. Anyway, I'm also going to be performing a lot with Resonance (co-ed a cappella group), as you can see on our
schedules page. I'm also super psyched because my sister is coming up for CPW! Hopefully I get a chance to hang out with her. I decided it would be best if I didn't host her, since I wanted her to meet more people and see more of MIT. So, she's staying with her host in
EAsT camPUS. Ironically, I'm actually friends with the host, even though I didn't plan that at all.
At any rate...if there are any prefrosh reading this (or even current students or just naturally curious people) have any questions about anything at MIT (academics, social life, hints about how to survive and conquer this place, etc.), please feel free to ask.
I look forward to your questions!
