Do Much Traveling Lately? Day 9.
Sundance Festival is in a couple of days, and there has been a lot of hubbub around the office cooler about a couple of representatives going to try and make some connections to further the Fox project. This would be a great opportunity to really get out into the industry and make some friends and assess the competition.
Earlier in my externship I had compiled a list of the most important people in each of the largest videosharing websites. Now it was a great chance for everyone to get to meet those people.
The goal was to get as many people to the festival as possible in the most cost effective way. So on Monday morning, I started looking for housing at Park City.
The best strategy at this point, because most of the hotels are booked, is to find places on Craig's List and try to sublet from locals in Salt Lake City. After an entire morning of fruitless searching, I moved onto trying to finding the cheapest rental car to drive everyone down there if we were all going. I also spent the morning looking at airfare to see the best way to get down there.
The two possibilities of going down to Sundance were: my boss David goes by himself or the entire group goes down to the film festival with him. But even after an entire day of searching, it seemed difficult to actually plan out what was going to happen. I went home feeling a little defeated but ready to continue making travel plans tomorrow.
