The ghost of presentations future

We had an interesting discussion on the uses of the draft--or ghost--deck to coordinate, manage, and plan your teams work. Do you know that nobody I could find has actually documented this process? Clearly something we should do!
While we work on that (via a nicely ghosted deck of course....) here are some thoughts on powerpoint that are somewhat tangential but interesting nevertheless.
First, why Edward Tufte hates it: PowerPoint Is Evil. According to him: Power Corrupts. PowerPoint Corrupts Absolutely. His website presents more ideas and explanation, with interesting blog discussions. I mentioned that David Byrne uses it for art, and that I've read several blogs that present fascinating discussions and analyses of what makes for  good and bad powerpoints (such as Gar Reynold's). But the issues connected to powerpoint's use for teaching and communication are, I think, slightly different from those related to powerpoint for managing a team project.
Finally, in the spirit of interesting and tangential things, here's an inspiring collection of quotes from Tom Peters. My favorite for today:
“We have a ‘strategic’ plan. It’s called doing things.”—Herb Kelleher, founder,
Southwest Airlines
